We would love to be able to say that our favorite holiday events are returning for 2021. Unfortunately, many events have been cancelled for the second year in a row. Even if our favorite festivals and light shows are not happening, there are still many ways to celebrate the season with an outdoors adventure.
Free National Parks Entrance on Veteran’s Day. This means, in Oregon, you can visit the Lewis and Clark National Historic Park near Astoria. National forests will also be offering free entrance to day-use areas on Veteran’s day.
Finder’s Keeper’s Glass Floats. Near Lincoln City, comb the beaches for special Thanksgiving floats distributed between November 25-27.
Winter Storm Watching along the coast. King tides bring opportunities to see huge waves. Check out upcoming dates at oregonkingtides.net and please watch from a safe distance if you decide to head out.
Take a Snow-day. Enjoy a day in the Snow in one of Oregon’s Sno-Parks in Mt Hood National Forest, Willamette National Forest, or Umatilla National Forest. If driving, remember to get your sno-park permit in advance.
